Empowering the Next Generation of UK Innovators
At The Cipher Academy CIC, we empower disadvantaged young people with hands-on adaptive AI and STEM education, supported by mentoring that bridges local opportunity gaps and addresses the national STEM skills shortage. Based in Pilton, Edinburgh, and founded by Dr. Uranta Emmanuel (PhD in Artificial Intelligence and Adaptive Systems), we are a community-driven initiative with a global outlook. Our mission is to unlock potential through logic, mathematics, physics, and AI, nurturing the next generation of thinkers, creators, and innovators who will shape the future of technology and society.
At The Cipher Academy, our philosophy is built on two timeless pillars, Logic and Numbers. We believe every breakthrough in science, technology, and innovation begins with the ability to reason clearly and think quantitatively. Logic cultivates structured problem-solving and creativity; numbers provide the foundation of mathematics, physics, and data science. Together, they form the basis of the next generation's STEM excellence to not only understand the world but to reinvent it.
An introductory, hands-on programme where young learners discover how Artificial Intelligence works through guided projects in Machine Learning, image recognition, chatbots, and ethical AI. No prior coding experience required, just curiosity.
Young learners explore coding fundamentals through structured logical thinking, algorithms, and problem-solving tasks that build the foundations of computer science.
This programme strengthens mathematical reasoning through algebraic concepts, number patterns, and logic-based exercises that prepare learners for higher-level maths.
Hands-on engineering challenges where learners design, build, test and improve real-world creations, from miniature bridges and vehicles to circuits and simple machines. This programme builds confidence in problem solving, teamwork and design thinking.
Weekend Family STEM Days invite parents and children to learn together through hands-on experiments, challenges, and mini-workshops. Activities are designed for all ages and encourage curiosity, teamwork and practical problem solving while showcasing learner projects to the community.
Advanced programme for learners aged 15–18 where participants explore how neural networks operate, build simple models, and experiment with deep learning techniques. The course boosts analytical thinking, programming confidence and real-world AI understanding, preparing learners for higher education and careers in Machine Learning and Data Science.
